Five Ways to Build a Habit of Prayer
Many believers long to pray more but struggle to be consistent. Here are five simple, practical steps to help prayer become a daily rhythm.
Prayer is a relationship, not a performance
If your prayer life feels dry or inconsistent, you are not alone. The good news is that prayer is less about getting the words right and more about showing up to spend time with a Father who loves you.
1. Pick a time and place
Consistency loves a routine. Choose a regular time and a quiet spot, and keep the appointment as you would any other.
2. Start small
Begin with ten focused minutes rather than an hour you cannot sustain. Faithfulness in little things grows into much.
3. Pray the Scriptures
When words run out, open the Psalms and pray them back to God. His Word gives language to our hearts.
4. Keep a list
Write down the people and needs you are praying for, and note the answers as they come. Recorded answers build faith.
5. Join others
Make the most of our midweek prayer meetings. There is a special grace when believers agree together in prayer.
Start today, start small, and watch a habit of prayer take root.
