Privacy Policy

We value the trust you place in us. This page explains, in plain language, how we look after your personal information.

Last updated: 1 June 2026

The Church of Pentecost Australia (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy describes what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We only collect personal information that we genuinely need to serve you and our church community. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and postal address when you contact us, register for an event, or join a ministry.
  • Prayer requests or messages you choose to share with us through our contact forms.
  • Giving and donation details where you support the church financially.
  • Basic technical information, such as your browser type and the pages you visit, collected automatically when you use our website.

You can always choose not to provide certain information, though this may limit our ability to respond to your request.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to:

  • Respond to your enquiries, prayer requests, and feedback.
  • Register and care for you at services, events, and ministry activities.
  • Keep you informed about church news, programs, and opportunities to serve, where you have asked to hear from us.
  • Process and acknowledge your giving and donations.
  • Improve our website and the way we serve our community.

We will never sell your personal information, and we will not use it for purposes you would not reasonably expect without first asking you.

Sharing your information

We treat your information as confidential. We only share it in limited situations, such as:

  • With trusted service providers who help us run our website, communications, or giving platforms, and only so they can perform those services for us.
  • With the wider Church of Pentecost where it is necessary for pastoral care or ministry coordination.
  • Where we are required to do so by law, or to protect the safety of a person or the community.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. This includes secure storage, restricted access, and careful handling by the volunteers and staff who serve you. No method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, but we work hard to safeguard what you entrust to us.

Your choices and rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Request that we correct information that is wrong or out of date.
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we are able to.
  • Unsubscribe from our updates at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us.

To make any of these requests, please reach out using the contact details below. We will respond as quickly as we reasonably can.

Cookies and website data

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, though some parts of the site may not work as well without them.

Children and young people

We care deeply for children and young people. Where our ministries involve them, we collect information only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and we follow our child safety and safeguarding policies at all times.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time so that it stays current and clear. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it occasionally.
